I have been retained on a superb Performance and Reward Director to be based in London. In this newly created position, you will sit on the Senior HR Leadership Team and be tasked with designing and implementing a reward philosophy befit for a firm in multiple jurisdictions in different time-zones, inclusive of compensation, benefits, HRIS and analytics. Reporting in to the recently appointed Senior Managing Director of HR in the USA, you will be the most senior HR practioner in London and therefore have a wider remit that a typical Reward Director in most firms.
In this complex but small firm, you will be ensuring the Reward and Performance agenda links in with the vision, values and employee value proposition whilst being able to manage a member of the team based in the USA. Whilst wearing your strategic hat and managing up to the Senior Managing Director of HR and founding Partners, you will also be required to roll up your sleeves and run more operational tasks such as the compensation round, benefits renewals, provide analytics and dashboards for effective decision makers and be able to contribute to wider HR related activity.
You will have ideally worked in either a startup or fast growing business from close to inception, and have partnered with an array of stakeholders inclusive of C-Suite or Managing Directors. You will have a proven track record of being entrepreneurial, engaging and having experience of building different facets of the Reward Function from scratch. As this firm sits in a well-established sector, experience of this industry would be interesting to glean from but not essential as my client would like innovative ideas to set them apart from competitors. You will have good technical abilities, but will have focused more on stakeholder engagement and building from a blank canvass in your recent career.
As this firm is in several global hubs, some travel will be required to meet senior stakeholders and create buy-in from the employee population. Flexible working is not only allowed but encouraged to ensure good work-life balance, but more importantly, this role is centred around output, performance and results rather than presenteeism.
