Our client, a global leader in the Consumer Loyalty/Experience sector, are looking to appoint a People Director for their APAC region to be based out of Hong Kong. Operating within a matrix business structure, the People Director, APAC reports into the Global Director of People & Culture, with dotted line reporting locally to the President of APAC.
You will be responsible for contributing toward the development and delivery of the global P&C strategy designed to build global consistencies and game changing practices. You will work closely with the regional leadership team to build and drive a more localised strategy that caters for the more unique needs of their business in the region and leading the regional People & Culture to enable their business to build on their existing success.
The role will see you support their business transformation and to drive cultural change, partnering with the regional leadership team to support a one company ethos and drive engagement. As such, you will operate as a change agent and take a leading consultative role to support change management across the region. Aside from your strategic focus you will also need to support the timely delivery of key business process including annual salary reviews, appraisals, succession planning and career development and the development of senior level business objectives as well as focus on continual process improvement in conjunction with the global P&C team. Working in conjunction with their global COE for Talent/Performance you will drive the APAC talent agenda and be a coach to leaders and senior managers to optimise performance and talent management.
To be successful in this role you must be a seasoned business partner with strong change and OD experience and the ability to offer creative solutions to complex situations. With the ability to multitask and work under pressure, operating regionally but not losing site of the bigger global strategy. You will need to be tenacious, be able to work with ambiguity and love championing to people agenda. Experience leading a regional team and developing your people will be very important. There will be some regional travel as well
More specifically you will need to demonstrate:
- Strong commercial acumen, the ability to identify inefficiencies and have operational understanding to gain credibility
- English speaking - fluency is a must
- Strong inter-personal, communication and influencing skills
- Detail minded balanced with the ability to be a creative thinker and problem solver
- Strategic thinking with a hands on and sleeves rolled up attitude to delivering great work
- Proven track record in strategic development of HR practice and the overall managing large scale HR transformation
Our client is interested in speaking to individuals that are Hong Kong based and have between 10 - 15 years' experience in HR as well as experience working within a matrix business structure. Given the breadth of the role you should also have experience working across all aspects of HR delivery including recruitment, payroll, C&B administration, performance management and employee engagement activities.
