Director - People and Organisational Development

This organisation offers crucial services to communities in their times of need. The interim People Director is a key hire as they undergo tranformation and change.

This role will lead and manage the HR function - managing a large team which includes Health and Safety and will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure that their staff and volunteers have the skills and capability to meet current and future needs.

As a member of the Executive Management Team, you will contribute in terms of strategy as well as developing organisational policy and work with the Exec to identify and reduce exposure to risk.

You will work closely with the business on any complex ER and IR issues and will have extensive experience in dealing with such matters.

As the agency grows and undergoes significant change and transformation in the services it offers and how it is structured, you will have a key role in driving the change to develop a strategy for the future and bring the strategy to reality.

The person

The ideal candiate would have extensive knowledge of the government sector and will be able to navigate its complexities and understand how to build relationships and make changes within this context.

Experience of leading large teams and operated at a HR Director level within complex organisations.

You will have worked with organisations focused on driving capability improving effectiveness and have managed large-scale change initiatives.

Initially this is a contract role, however there is potential for extension or to become permanent for the right person.
