Responsibilities:

The HR Officer will have the following day to day responsibilities:

  • RECRUITMENT & NEW JOINERS
    • Support line managers with end to end recruitment process, including identifying suitable recruitment agencies, co-ordinating interviews across the business, obtaining necessary approvals and preparing offer documentation.
    • Set up all new staff on the portal
    • Complete on-boarding for new starters including adding them to our HR system, liaising with Compliance and preparing welcome packs.
    • Conduct first day inductions.
    • Manage Intern requests (incl. reviewing applications, making offers and on-boarding).
    • Manage Work experience requests (incl. preparing work experience schedules).
    • Organise Company Inductions for new staff on a quarterly basis.
    • Review speculative CV's submitted through the Careers website and direct to relevant managers as appropriate.
    • Ensure all recruitment costs are entered into the HR system, invoices checked and saved down in addition to producing quarterly and annual recruitment cost reports to management.
    • Work with the HR team to continue to improve the overall recruitment and on-boarding processes.
  • TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
    • Book all ad hoc staff training with our training broker
    • Liaise with our training broker and other providers for any specific training requirements / tailored training e.g. Project management.
    • Analyse personal development targets identified in staff performance appraisals and research suitable individual or group learning/training options.
    • Work proactively with line managers to provide the best quality and cost effective training options for their teams and take responsibility for arranging bookings.
    • At month end (from the reports emailed to us by our training broker) upload all training that has been completed into our HR system.
    • Use this data to devise a report to show our annual training costs and send to Head of HR on a quarterly basis.
    • Manage the 'Equality & Diversity' Online mandatory training ensuring all staff complete on an annual basis and work with our training partners to arrange face to face diversity & inclusion training for all staff.
    • Work with the HR team to continue to improve our Training and Development offerings and processes.
  • GENERAL HR & AD-HOC TASKS
    • Monitor and manage all probation reviews for staff ensuring managers are contacted in advance of the end dates and confirmations are saved in hard and soft copy staff folders.
    • Respond to all reference requests.
    • Develop and maintain a tracking system that clearly shows when references have been sent so that updated references can be sent as per our regulatory requirements.
    • Support HR team with the holiday and absence tracking system - making changes, adding new joiners, removing leavers and running reports.
    • Support HR team during the performance review period (following up with line managers and all staff to ensure appraisals are completed by set deadlines, running completion reports and rating distribution reports).
  • PROJECTS
    • Working on projects following our company re-positioning/strategy such as upskilling managers/leadership training/encouraging personal development
    • Developing additional work experience projects for students to work on during their placements
    • Identify and review different performance system providers or make necessary updates to our current system
    • Create a data retention policy and approach, support in archiving historical staff and payroll files to our external provider.
    • Consider and make a proposal as to whether the LLP could introduce an apprenticeship scheme to utilise the levy - perhaps IT Support Service Desk.
    • Support in Senior Managers Certification Regime project - due by mid/end 2019
    • Continuous improvement of all our HR processes and procedures.
