I have recently been retained by a boutique professional services firm to appoint them a Global Head of Staffing, Talent Development and Training. With offices spread across the globe, this firm choose to focus purely on core specialisms, which allows them to deliver impressive results when their clients present them with some of the most complex commercial challenges.
There has been an emphasis on investment into their global people strategy recently, so I am delighted to be partnering with them to secure this brand new headcount.
Reporting into the Director of People, this person will be driving the global people agenda and running the firm's Staffing, Talent Development and Training teams globally. You will be directly line managing three team members in the UK office and have oversight of the local staffers across ten offices.
Staffing: As this is a global role, you will be accountable for people deployment across the entire firm and will be supported by extremely capable and well-respected Staffing Managers. The Director of People plays a key role in the firm's Senior Leadership team and you will partner with them to escalate people issues and projects when necessary.
You will also take accountability for the inter-office network communications and will chair the weekly meetings focused on people deployment, pre-empting any conflicts or capacity issues.
Talent Development and Training: You will be working closely with the senior leadership team, ascertaining development needs and leading sessions. Partnering with the wider HR team, you will also take a lead role on performance reviews for senior stakeholders and will oversee the global development curriculum at all levels of seniority.
Staff Engagement and Communications: You will lead the global staff engagement survey and deliver any relevant firmwide communications relating to people development.
Your experience of a partnership and a professional services environment will be a major benefit to my client and, having led staffing and talent teams in this setting, will ensure an easy transition into this position.
This is a high-pressured environment and you will be required to make commercial decisions, influence stakeholders and manage conflicting demands.

The base salary we will be looking to appoint this role at will range between £75,000 and £85,000, depending on experience and sector knowledge. You will also be eligible for a performance-related bonus, pension scheme, private health insurance and health or wellbeing subsidised benefits.
I will be speaking with, and interviewing, considerations for this role during July and first stage interviews with my client will be week commencing 5th August.
