Our client an exciting next-generation e-comm/retail startup disrupting the accessories industry with an already loyal following is seeking an experienced HR Director or Sr. Director of HR to be based out of their Soho New York location on a hybrid model. A truly exciting time to join, our client seeks an HR leader with depth across Talent Management & Development, Employee Relations, Recruitment, Training, and projects to shepherd them forward into hypergrowth mode. They are further expanding their successful business model to key upscale markets nationally and focusing on the continuous refinement of their marketing reach online. This position will oversee two resources (an HRBP and culture and engagement coordinator) and will drive the building of a strategic and operational HR function. With benefits and payroll well handled by a peer level HR Operations lead, and recruitment being supported by regional retail managers, this hire will have the backing they need to deploy successful people-centric programs across the entire employee lifecycle, bring structure and scalable practice to recruitment and retention, and skilled people support and coaching to their rapidly growing population which will soon number 200 in corporate and field. The ideal hire will come from a high-growth, smaller and rapidly scaling environment that is retail and or e-commerce adjacent and has a multi-state aspect. They will have at least 8 years of relevant experience in fluid, hands on, and unstructured settings very focused on excellence and topflight customer experience, but also understand HR best practices and have the ability to lend rigor to this dynamic brand. This role will require at least 3 days in the office per week and some national travel (NE and South) on a regular basis, estimated at 20% and probably lessening over time. Strong employee relations knowledge and an affinity for talent acquisition strategy will predict success. Salary will range by experience between 160-180K + significant options.
