About Our Client

Our client is a highly profitable business in the chemicals/energy sector, commanding an unrivalled presence in Asia Pacific. They have scaled their business over the past decade and has been aggressively building up their leadership capabilities in the region. The organization has experienced double digit growth and are extremely profitable. With the expansion of business and leadership, they have decided to onboard a Chief HR Officer to lead the HR function and be part of the board member team to provide inputs from a people's perspective.

Job Description

Reporting into the President of Asia as well as the board chairman, you will be given the mandate to transform the culture and organizational development to move them towards the next level of HR maturity. You will partner closely with the various country MDs and VPs of departments to understand the business, functions so as to ensure a high level of business partnering capabilities that would gel the teams toward achieving objectives of the business. Through this effort, you will be supported by a team of 30-40 HR individuals, spread throughout the region who will provide their specialist experience across all disciplines of HR. You will continuously enhance the HR function, build high performing teams and create a strong HR branding/network both internally and externally.

The Successful Applicant

Ideally, you should possess approximately 15 to 20 years of HR Operations and Business Partnering experience equipped with a degree in Human Resources or its equivalence. They would require someone who has 3-5 years in a previous capacity helming the function regionally. Given that a major part of the business is residing over in China, they would require the individual to have strong command of the language to build relationships and influence accordingly. They are in the hard industries business and would prefer individuals coming from Chemicals / Commodities, Energy or Infrastructure. The role would require this individual to have frequent travel (35%) to plants/factory sites across the region. You should possess a proven track record of building up high performance teams, achieving business objectives and the ability to network and influence senior stakeholders/board members.
